Building Athletic Foundations for 5-6 Year Olds
Give your child the perfect start to sports with our fun and engaging multi-sport program designed specifically for 5-6 year olds. This program focuses on developing essential movement skills, coordination, and strength through age-appropriate activities that keep young kids active, excited, and confident. Our goal is to build a strong foundation for all sports, helping kids develop both physically and socially.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays:

We focus on Athletics, dedicating 75% of the session to improving basic speed, balance, and agility. Through fun running games, obstacle courses, and mini-races, kids develop coordination, learn to move efficiently, and enhance their overall fitness.
The remaining 25% is dedicated to Coordination – playful ball-handling drills like throwing, catching, and kicking. These activities help improve hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and spatial awareness, all while keeping kids engaged and entertained.
Picture
Tuesdays and Thursdays:

We introduce a balanced variety of activities:
  • 50% Athletics – Games and activities focused on running, jumping, and basic agility to develop early athletic skills and build stamina.
  • 25% Coordination – Simple ball games and drills that enhance balance and introduce essential ball skills used across many sports.
  • 25% Strength and Movement – Basic bodyweight exercises, such as crawling, jumping, and climbing, designed to develop core strength, stability, and confidence in movement.

Our program fosters creativity, teamwork, and discipline through structured play, giving kids a strong base to thrive in any sport. By focusing on fun, foundational movement, and skill-building, we help children stay active, develop confidence, and build a love for physical activity that will stay with them for years to come.

NOTES:
Groups of Friends: We know that kids have more fun when they attend our Academy with friends so we encourage this were possible. If your child has a group they’d like to join with, mention this in the comments section of the registration form along with the names of the other children.

Registrations of Interest: The more interest we receive, the more age groups we will look to open up each term. Registration is completely FREE, so simply leave your name and contact details, and we’ll notify you when we open up another age group and also when registration officially opens. Priority is given on a first-come, first-served basis. e.g. If you sign up today and someone else signs up tomorrow, you'll be prioritized if we reach the 10-person limit.

Free trial:  If you would like to try before you commit to a whole term, you can! We are offering one free trial per child to see if they (and you) like it. To book in a free trial email us at [email protected] or just message us on our Contact page. Or even visit out Free Trial Day on Thursdays for Term 4, 2024.

full details (Dropdown)
Participating in multiple sports offers a range of benefits for individuals, particularly children and adolescents. Here are some key advantages:
  1. Physical Development: Different sports develop different muscle groups and improve overall physical conditioning. This leads to a more well-rounded athletic ability and reduces the risk of overuse injuries common in single-sport athletes.
  2. Mental and Cognitive Benefits: Engaging in various sports challenges the brain in different ways, improving cognitive functions such as problem-solving, adaptability, and concentration. It also helps in developing strategic thinking and quick decision-making skills.
  3. Reduced Burnout: Focusing on one sport can lead to mental and physical burnout. Multi-sport participation keeps the experience fresh and enjoyable, reducing the risk of burnout.
  4. Skill Transfer: Skills learned in one sport can often be transferred to another, enhancing overall athletic performance. For example, agility from soccer can improve performance in basketball, and hand-eye coordination from tennis can be beneficial in baseball.
  5. Social Development: Playing different sports exposes individuals to diverse social environments and groups of people, fostering teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
  6. Injury Prevention: Engaging in multiple sports reduces repetitive stress on the same muscles and joints, lowering the likelihood of injuries that are common with repetitive motions in a single sport.
  7. Greater Enjoyment and Motivation: The variety keeps the athlete motivated and engaged, as they can switch sports based on interest, preventing monotony and maintaining high levels of enthusiasm.
  8. Better Long-Term Athletic Success: Studies have shown that athletes who specialize later tend to achieve higher levels of success, as early specialization can lead to burnout and injuries. Multi-sport athletes often develop a broader range of skills and a deeper love for sport, contributing to long-term success and participation.
  9. Enhanced Learning and Adaptability: Exposure to different coaching styles, team dynamics, and competitive situations enhances an athlete's ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Overall, multi-sport participation fosters a healthier, more balanced approach to physical activity and personal development, providing a strong foundation for both athletic and personal growth.

Further details about The Games

How would I qualify for The Games?

In the inaugural Games year, there will be no qualification process required, unlike in subsequent years once the event gains more recognition. This means that ANY individual can participate in the first ever Games and potentially secure a permanent place on the Honours board. Similar to the first-ever Olympics or CrossFit Games, these initial competitions hold a special significance as they offer a straightforward path to achieving lasting recognition, with fewer qualifying rounds and competitors involved. So if wanted the best chance of winning it, it would be in the launch year!

The Events for The Games:

Event 1: Skill and Fitness: 100m Sprint
Event 2: Skill: Soccer post challenge: Totaling up how many times you hit the post out of seven attempts.
Event 3: Skill: Golf 15m chip: Take seven shots at a ringed target. The closer your shot lands to the center, the more points you score.

Event 4: Skill: Hockey dribble challenge: Race against the clock, dribbling around seven cones and back to the starting point.
Event 5: Skill: Rugby passing challenge: Pass the ball from seven meters away into a bin-sized target. Score based on your success out of seven attempts.
Event 6: Skill:  Basketball shooting hoops: Take seven shots from the free throw line and record your score out of seven.
Event 7: Multi-Sport Final Race: 400m run - 20 pushups (chest to floor and straight arms) - soccer dribble around cones - Sprint 50m to finish.

Points are awarded per event result. If you are 1st you get 100 points, 2nd 94 points, 3rd 91 points all the way down to 1 point for last place. After each round, the points are added up overall to determine your overall position. For points see this table here in the FAQ's section.

How can I enter The first ever Games?

For the first ever Games, there will be no qualification like there will be for subsequent years once word has officially got out. Therefore ANYONE can enter the 2024 Games with a chance to get your name on the Honours board for life from the first ever Games! Just like the first ever Olympics or CrossFit Games, these are etched in for life when essentially they were also the easiest to do.
