About Multi-Sport Kids Academy

New to MSKA? Start here. This section covers who we are, what we do, the benefits of our approach, and which areas of North Sydney we serve.

About Us →
What is Multi-Sport Kids Academy?

Multi-Sport Kids Academy (MSKA) is a children's athletic development program based on Sydney's Lower North Shore. We run after school sports programs, school holiday sports camps and kids' sports birthday parties across North Sydney — including Neutral Bay, Lane Cove and Greenwich.

Our mission is to build confident, coordinated, well-rounded young athletes through fun, high-energy multi-sport coaching. Every session is run by WWCC-cleared, insured and experienced coaches.

What ages do your programs cater for?

After school sports programs welcome children aged 5–12. School holiday camps are designed for ages 7–12. Kids' birthday parties are flexible — our coaches adjust the activity mix and intensity to suit the age of the group, from young children through to pre-teens.

If you're unsure whether your child's age is a good fit, just get in touch and we'll advise you directly.

What are the benefits of multi-sport for kids?

Children who take part in a multi-sport program develop superior coordination, agility, speed, confidence and social skills compared to early single-sport specialisation. Key benefits include:

  • Broader athletic foundation — movement skills that transfer across every sport
  • Reduced burnout — variety keeps children engaged and motivated for longer
  • Speed and agility development — built into every session through relays, drills and athletic challenges
  • Confidence and social skills — team-based formats build communication and resilience
  • Long-term sporting success — studies consistently show multi-sport children reach higher athletic levels than early single-sport specialists

Our kids' athletic development program in Sydney is designed with these outcomes at its core — fun first, with real skill-building built in.

Which suburbs and schools in North Sydney do you serve?

After school sports programs currently run at the following locations:

  • Neutral Bay — After School Sports at Neutral Bay School
  • Lane Cove — After School Sports at Lane Cove North Public School
  • Greenwich — After School Sports at Greenwich School

School holiday sports camps are held at St Leonards Park, North Sydney, and are accessible to families across the wider North Sydney area.

Birthday parties are available across the North Sydney area — we come to you. We are continuing to expand across the Lower North Shore, so contact us if your suburb isn't listed yet.

What is the difference between after school care and after school sports?

After school care (OSHC) is a licensed childcare supervision service focused on keeping children safe until parents finish work. It is regulated as a childcare service.

After school sports programs at MSKA are active, coached, structured multi-sport sessions focused entirely on children's athletic development, skill-building, confidence and fun. Our programs are not a childcare service — they are a premium sport and physical development experience designed to give children real athletic skills in an energetic, social environment.

Many families in North Sydney and Lane Cove use MSKA programs as a complement to after school care, or instead of it on days when active enrichment is the priority.

After School Sports Programs

Term-time multi-sport sessions at Neutral Bay, Lane Cove and Greenwich — Monday to Friday. For children aged 5 to 12.

Where do after school sports programs run in North Sydney?

We currently run after school sports programs at three Lower North Shore locations:

  • Neutral Bay — After School Sports at Neutral Bay School
  • Lane Cove — After School Sports at Lane Cove North Public School
  • Greenwich — After School Sports at Greenwich School

Programs run Monday to Friday during school term, typically 3:00pm–5:00pm. We are expanding across North Sydney — contact us to ask about upcoming venues in your area.

What does a typical after school session look like?

Each session runs approximately 1–1.5 hours and includes:

  • A coached warm-up with movement and agility drills
  • Rotating sport stations — children try multiple activities across the session
  • Team-based competitive games (e.g., Touch Rugby, relays, team challenges)
  • Speed and athletic development segments
  • A cool-down and group reflection

The content rotates week to week so children are always learning something new. All sessions are coached by WWCC-cleared staff with full equipment provided.

Is speed and agility training included in the program?

Yes. Speed, agility and quickness (SAQ) development is built into every after school session and holiday camp. Children regularly do:

  • Sprint relays and timed race challenges
  • Agility ladder and cone drills
  • Shuttle runs and directional change exercises
  • Reaction and explosive start training

Parents often tell us that after a term with MSKA, their child's speed and running form noticeably improves — particularly valuable for school athletics carnivals. Our kids' athletic development program in Sydney is designed to deliver real, visible improvement over time.

My child has no prior sports experience — is that OK?

Absolutely. Many children join MSKA with little or no prior team sports experience, and they thrive. Our coaches are specifically trained to work with all ability levels and create a welcoming, pressure-free environment.

The multi-sport format means children are never put in a situation where lack of experience in one sport holds them back — every session brings something new, and children build confidence progressively over time. The focus is always on fun, learning and belonging.

Can my child try a session before committing to enrolment?

Yes — we offer Free Trial Thursdays, where your child can experience a full MSKA session at no cost before you decide to enrol. It's the best way to see whether your child loves it (they usually do).

What if my child misses a session?

No problem — sessions run every weekday during term, so there are plenty of opportunities to attend. Missed sessions are not individually refunded under standard enrolment, but if your child needs to miss an extended period due to illness or injury, please get in touch with us directly and we'll work something out.

When do school holiday sports camps run in Sydney?

School holiday sports camps run every school break — summer, autumn, winter and spring holidays. Camps are held at St Leonards Park, North Sydney and are accessible to families from across the Lower North Shore and wider Sydney.

Dates are confirmed each term and spots fill quickly. Check our bookings page for the next camp schedule, or contact us to be added to the notification list.

What does a typical school holiday camp day look like?

Camp days are full-day structured sport programs packed with activity. A typical day includes:

  • Sport rotations — Touch Rugby, T-Ball, Soccer, Athletics and team challenges
  • Speed and agility training — sprint challenges, relays, timed runs and agility drills
  • Team tournaments — structured competition across multiple sports
  • Tokens and prizes — rewarding effort, improvement and sportsmanship
  • Athlete of the Day — recognition for standout performances

The camps are designed to be the most active, fun and memorable week of the school holidays — and to deliver real athletic development alongside the enjoyment.

What should my child bring to a school holiday camp?

Please ensure your child brings:

  • Hat
  • Sunscreen (applied before arrival — we also keep stock on hand for reapplication)
  • Drink bottle
  • Morning tea / snacks
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Jumper or hoodie

To wear: running trainers and sports clothes. All sporting equipment is provided by our coaching team — your child does not need to bring any gear.

Are camps outdoors? What happens if the weather is bad?

Yes — camps are run outdoors unless otherwise specified. They are very rarely cancelled due to weather. Here's what you can expect:

  • Light rain or showers: the program continues, with activities rotated to covered areas as needed
  • Moderate conditions: coaches adapt the program — camps nearly always go ahead
  • Severe weather (heavy continuous rain, high winds, lightning): all parents will be notified of any cancellation by 7:30am on the morning of the event

Drop-off and pick-up times remain unchanged unless a cancellation is communicated.

What is the refund and cancellation policy for holiday camps?

Our full refund and cancellation policy is available on request. In general, cancellation terms depend on the timing of your request relative to the camp start date. Please contact us directly at info@multisportgames.com.au for details and to discuss your specific situation — we aim to be as fair and flexible as possible.

View Party Page →
How does a kids' sports birthday party work?

It's simple. You choose a date and location — or we help you find a suitable venue in the North Sydney area. Our coaches arrive fully equipped, set everything up, split the children into teams and run a full hour of multi-sport games, races and challenges.

Parents sit back, relax and enjoy the time while we take care of every child in the group. At the end of the session, kids finish buzzing — it's an unforgettable birthday experience that every child will talk about for weeks.

What is included in the $295 birthday party package?

The $295 party package includes everything needed for a complete 1-hour coached sports session:

  • Full 1-hour session for up to 15 kids
  • WWCC-cleared, insured and experienced coaching team
  • All sporting equipment provided, transported and set up by us
  • Customised activity selection — tailored to your child's favourite sports and the age group
  • Team-based structure with prizes and recognition throughout
  • Minor first aid kit on hand at all times

Optional electronic invitations are available for an additional fee. Venue hire (if required) is arranged separately. For groups larger than 15, please contact us to discuss options.

What age group are kids' birthday parties suited to?

Our birthday parties work well for a wide range of ages. Our coaches adjust the activity complexity and intensity to suit the group on the day — from enthusiastic 5-year-olds discovering team games for the first time, through to competitive 12-year-olds going all out in a tournament format.

Mixed-age groups are also welcome and handled well by our coaching team. Just let us know the age range when you enquire and we'll plan accordingly.

Do I need to arrange a venue for the party?

Not necessarily. We can come to your backyard, a local park, or any suitable outdoor space you've already arranged. If you're unsure about a venue, we can suggest options in the North Sydney area that work well for a group of up to 15 children.

We're flexible — just let us know your general location and we'll help you find something that suits your group size and budget.

How far in advance should I book a party?

We recommend getting in touch at least 2–3 weeks before your preferred date to secure availability — weekend slots in particular are popular and can book up quickly. The earlier you get in touch, the more date flexibility you'll have.

Safety & Qualifications

Your child's safety is our top priority. Here's everything you need to know about our staff qualifications, insurance and emergency procedures.

Do all staff hold Working With Children Checks?

Yes — without exception. Every member of the Multi-Sport Kids Academy coaching team holds a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). This is a mandatory requirement for all staff and volunteers who work with children in any capacity at MSKA.

You can verify any coach's WWCC status through the NSW Government's online WWCC verification tool if you wish to do so.

Are staff First Aid certified?

Yes. All MSKA coaching staff are certified to HLTAID012 — the national unit of competency for Providing First Aid in an Education and Care Setting. This is a higher standard than general First Aid certification and specifically covers:

  • CPR for children and infants
  • Anaphylaxis and severe allergic reaction management
  • Asthma management
  • Wound care and injury response in an outdoor/active setting

A first aid kit is present at every session and event.

Are sessions covered by public liability insurance?

Yes. Multi-Sport Kids Academy holds public liability insurance that covers all programs, sessions and events we run. In addition, all coaching staff are individually WWCC-cleared and First Aid certified as an additional layer of protection for participants.

What happens if a child is injured during a session?

Our coaches carry a full first aid kit and are trained to respond to injuries and medical emergencies in a children's setting. In the event of an injury:

  • Minor injuries (cuts, scrapes, bruises): first aid is administered on site by the coach
  • The parent or guardian is contacted immediately via the emergency contact details provided at enrolment
  • Medical emergencies: emergency services (000) are called immediately and parents are notified without delay

An incident report is completed for any injury requiring first aid, regardless of severity.
