The team at MSKA have a fantastic set up for kids and our son has thrived under their tutelage over the last year. Not only has he improved his speed endurance and agility but he has also learnt the value of team work and resilience. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend this program to other parents of primary aged kids. It’s a game changer.

FAQ's: Frequently Asked Questions
|
What happens if it rains?
We play whatever the weather! The after school camps will never be cancelled due to weather. Pick up times will remain unchanged but earlier pickup is there if you want it. In times of extreme weather (continuous heavy rain/ high winds/ ground closure) we modify the program to make best and appropriate use of the parks undercover areas. This could be plyometrics, coordination balls skills or if really bad, just quizzes and crafts. We will also message you via Whatsapp to say that the athletic session is not running and if you did want to pick your child up early, you can (in line with all other outdoor activity centres). It is therefore important to bring a waterproof jacket and sports clothes that can get wet and dirty whilst also keeping them warm (we will provide full list of details upon enrollment of what is needed). With regards to rain and if you are worried your kids will get ill, worry no more! Research shows that playing outside in the rain not only builds mental resilience and boosts sensory development, but it also supports children’s immune systems by helping them adapt to a variety of natural conditions. When properly dressed, kids thrive outdoors even in the wet, and many love the extra challenge and fun of muddy games! What Does a typical day look like: After School Care?
Example Wednesday Schedule: (3:15 PM - 5:30 PM) for 7 - 12 yr olds Note: All of the below activities are performed via games to make it fun and engaging. 3.10 - 3.45PM: Walking bus to locations (if walking bus required) 3:45 - 4:00 PM: Free Play
4:00 - 4:10 PM: Warm-Up and Dynamic Stretching
4:10 - 4:25 PM: Speed and Agility Drills
4:25 - 4:40 PM: Advanced Relay Races
4:40 - 5:00 PM: Jumping and Throwing Skills
5:00 - 5.30 PM: Fun Soccer Game until pickup
DO we have to do all days of the week or can we pick and choose?
Although the more athletic development sessions your child is exposed to per week in beneficial, you can of course pick and choose your days as you wish. Want just Thursday afternoons? No problem. Remember though, if you choose 2 days, then the 2nd day is only $20 per session! I am on the waitlist, how long before I can get my child on to the program?
When demand is strong which we envisage it to be for some age groups and days, then we will open up more groups of children each term. The difficulty in the Neutral Bay/ North Sydney area is outdoor space being shared by a lot of other sporting groups, so whilst we would love to have 100 kids each day benefitting from our fun programs, this is not always possible due to these external space and booking limitations. We are working on this though so watch this space. And we will of course notify you as soon as a spot becomes available. Does my Child need to be sporty to attend?
In short - No! Whilst it helps if they are sporty and love activity, this program is here to develop kids into enjoying activity and treating it as part of their everyday routine. Sport is fun, which is why it is so big globally, and we think everyone will enjoy something, they just have to give it a go. Late pickup Charge: What happens if I am after 5.30pm pickup?
A late fee of $20 will be charged to any family whose child has not been collected by 5.30pm. After 5.45 pm a late fee of $30 will be charged. Do you walk all the way to/from anderson and st leonards parks?
Yes we do! Did you know that for each year of age a child is is the amount of kilometers they should be able to walk? So if they are 7 years old, they should be able to walk 7km! Anderson and St Leonards Parks are 1.5km max from the furthest school so this will be a nice warmup and warm down. The kids actually like the walk and chit chat opportunity after school. Regarding safety, we walk along backroads where possible and only use safety crossings provided, ensuring your child's maximum safety. Do all the coaches have working with children checks and are first aid trained?
Yes, all required Multi-Sport Kids Academy Coaches have a current Working with Children Check as well as being First Aid trained to a HLTAIDO12 standard. HLTAID012 is the national unit of competency for Providing First Aid in an Education and Care Setting in Australia, which equips childcare workers, educators and support staff with the specialised skills and knowledge to respond to medical emergencies involving infants and children, including CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management. |
